The French giant bought out all of the partners' shares and became the sole owner of Flexis.
Renault Group has officially taken full control of Flexis SAS, which was established in 2024 as an ambitious joint venture with Volvo Group to develop electric commercial vehicles. The French group has acquired a 45% stake from Volvo Group and a 10% stake from logistics company CMA-CGM. With this move, Renault becomes the sole owner and assumes full responsibility for the next generation of e-delivery vehicles, although financial details remain confidential for the time being.

The focus of this acquisition is the development of three key electric models: Trafic, Estafette and Goelette. Production of the new Renault Trafic Van E-Tech Electric will begin at the Sandouville plant in France at the end of this year.
Despite the ownership withdrawal, the Volvo Group is not leaving the scene entirely, as the new electric Trafic will continue to be available through the Renault Trucks network. As Renault Trucks has been owned by the Volvo Group since 2001, the model will be available on the market under both brands. This means that Renault Group and Renault Trucks (under the Volvo umbrella) will continue to market the same vehicle, but now with a clearly defined French ownership structure behind the development.
