The refreshed Honda ZR-V for the Japanese market bids farewell to the classic petrol engine, offers an exclusively hybrid drivetrain and adds a new, extremely robust equipment package.
After almost four years on the market, the Honda ZR-V has undergone a facelift in its homeland, with the biggest changes coming under the hood. The Japanese manufacturer has quietly removed the 1,5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine from the range and transformed the model into an exclusively self-charging hybrid, which is also known in Europe with the same powertrain. Despite the rather restrained external changes, the facelift brings a fresh palette of body colors, new 18-inch alloy wheels and a much richer standard equipment, including a 9-inch screen with Google services, 10,2-inch digital gauges and heated leather seats.

The equipment range now includes X, Z, a darkened Black Style and an all-new, adventure-oriented package Cross TouringThe latter borrows its honeycomb front grille and bumpers from the American HR-V, while its off-road character is emphasized by aluminum-look protective trim, side sills and matte black 18-inch wheels. The robust exterior, which can be chosen in an exclusive sand color, is complemented by a prestigious cabin with beige leather, orange contrast stitching and a premium Bose audio system with 12 speakers.

All models are now powered by an advanced 2,0-liter e:HEV hybrid powertrain, delivering 135 kW (184 HP) system power and generous 315 Nm of torque. Buyers can continue to choose between front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive (AWD), depending on the desired balance between traction and efficiency. According to unofficial information, prices in the Japanese market are expected to start at around 22.800 euros for the base model, while the top-spec Cross Touring with four-wheel drive will cost around 29.100 euros, which represents an increase of approximately 450 euros compared to the previous model.
