For almost 50.000 euros, car tuner Manthey makes the new Porsche 911 GT3 (992.2) even faster and more brutal.
Some people have problems that others would like to have. For example, if the production Porsche 911 GT3 is clearly not fast enough for them. For this specific target group, Manthey has now developed a new performance kit for the 992.2, which is available now. The investment in development is enormous and shows that there is enough potential for such conversions that push the boundaries between road and racetrack even further.

The numbers prove the concept is correct. DTM champion Ayhancan Güven lapped the 20,8-kilometer Nürburgring-Nordschleife in 6:52,981 minutes. This is almost three seconds faster than the Manthey GT3 of the previous generation 992.1. And this despite the fact that, according to Manthey, the track conditions were not ideal. For comparison: the production Porsche 911 GT3 (992.2) in the hands of factory racer Jörg Bergmeister took almost 3,5 seconds longer with a time of 6:56,294.

The main reason for the improved lap time is the improved aerodynamics. The entire package generates 540 kilograms of downforce at a speed of 285 km/h. This is achieved, among other things, by a new carbon rear spoiler with Gurney flap, a larger rear diffuser from the GT3 RS and special carbon aerodynamic discs on the rear wheels. The almost completely lined lower body with 150-centimeter-long air deflectors also contributes to the improved performance.
The centerpiece of the kit is a 4-stage adjustable aluminum suspension. Its compression and rebound settings can be adjusted for low and high speeds without tools. The spring rate has been optimized for track use, with 20 percent more on the front axle and 7 percent less on the rear. The steel brakes are said to provide a more direct braking feel. For ambitious track drivers, additional racing brake pads are available.

The price for the optimization is not exactly low. Manthey is asking for almost 50.000 euros for the set, for which you could buy an almost new Golf R. In return, you get a package in which all the components are precisely coordinated and can only be installed together. The Porsche factory warranty remains unchanged. Anyone who wants to upgrade their GT3 in time for the start of the Nordschleife season should call Manthey.
