The refreshed luxury sedan brings the advanced MB.OS system with artificial intelligence, illuminated design elements and powerful electrified powertrains.
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the most extensive facelift for the ultra-luxury Maybach S-Class, pushing the boundaries of prestige even higher. The exterior retains its recognizable elegance, but brings a more distinctive visual appearance with a larger radiator grille and a more complex light signature. Customers can now choose illuminated badges, an illuminated grille surround and even a luminous logo on the bonnet. An additional touch of extravagance is provided by new forged wheels with a floating star in the middle, which remains in the same (upright) position regardless of driving speed, and the whole image is rounded off by headlights with specific Maybach details in the form of a three-pointed star.

The interior is designed as a private lodge, where the main role is taken by the advanced MB.OS operating system, which runs with the help of artificial intelligence. This allows natural voice control and automatic adjustment of the air conditioning and suggesting destinations based on the driver's habits or tone of voice. For the complete comfort of passengers in the rear seats, reminiscent of first class on an airplane, automatic electrically sliding comfort doors, a built-in refrigerator with silver-plated champagne glasses and smart screens are provided. The premium driving experience is complemented by predictive active suspension, which uses sensors to read the road in front of the vehicle and even remembers the locations of potholes so that it can adjust in time for the next drive.

Under the hood, Maybach offers a range of electrified six- and eight-cylinder engines, as well as the prestigious V12. The Maybach S 580 is powered by a new V8 that develops 395 kW (537 hp) of power, assisted by an electric system with an additional 17 kW (23 hp). The top of the range remains the V12 version, which boasts 450 kW (612 hp) and, despite weighing almost 2,5 tonnes, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just four seconds. For those looking for even more efficiency, there is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) that combines a 3,0-litre inline six-cylinder engine with 330 kW (449 hp) and 560 Nm of torque and an electric motor with 120 kW (163 hp) and 480 Nm of torque; the battery with a capacity of 21,96 kWh enables a purely electric range of 100 kilometres.
