Mercedes-Benz has introduced a thoroughly revised GLE model with upgraded powertrains, a new interior design and a top-of-the-line AMG plug-in hybrid version with 424 kW (577 hp).
Mercedes-Benz has given the GLE a comprehensive facelift for the 2027 model year, which includes around 3.000 new or revised components. Visual updates include revised bumpers and new lights, bringing the SUV closer to the brand's current design language. The interior now features the so-called Superscreen as standard – a dashboard with three 12,3-inch screens under a single glass surface, powered by the latest operating system. All standard models have an electronically limited top speed of 210 km/h and allow towing trailers weighing up to 3.500 kg, while the standard 4Matic all-wheel drive with a new reduction gear ensures optimal power transfer.

The powertrain range has been thoroughly revised, with the top of the classic range represented by the GLE 580 4Matic with an updated 4,0-liter mild-hybrid V8 engine, which develops 390 kW (530 hp) and 750 Nm of torque and accelerates to 100 km/h in just over 4,5 seconds. A step lower is the GLE 450 4Matic with an improved 3,0-liter inline six-cylinder engine (276 kW (375 hp), 560 Nm), and the base is the GLE 350 4Matic with a 2,0-liter four-cylinder engine with 188 kW (255 hp) and 400 Nm of torque. An important new feature is the GLE 500e plug-in hybrid, which combines an inline six-cylinder engine and an electric motor for a system output of 315 kW (429 hp) and 680 Nm of torque, and reaches 100 km/h in around 5,1 seconds.

The new Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Hybrid deserves special attention, which, compared to its predecessor, brings a significant increase in performance and a new, more aggressive look with a recognizable grille and four exhaust pipes. The powertrain combines a new 3,0-liter inline six-cylinder engine and an electric motor, which enables a system output of 424 kW (577 hp) and 750 Nm of torque and acceleration to 100 km/h in just 4,5 seconds. The exact date of the start of sales and official European price lists have not yet been confirmed, but informative prices on the American market indicate that the offer on the other side of the pond will presumably start at approximately (converted) 58.500 euros for the base 350 model, while the AMG GLE 53 version will cost around 84.000 euros.
