Hyundai Ioniq: New Venus and Earth Concepts

The new electric models herald a completely fresh design direction and strategy for the brand in the Chinese market.

The Ioniq brand is expanding its presence in the Chinese market with two all-new electric concepts, named Venus and Earth, which, contrary to global practice, do away with numerical designations. The move marks a new planetary naming strategy and a notable design departure from current models, as Hyundai aims to develop vehicles that are specifically tailored to the needs and tastes of local customers as part of a broader mobility ecosystem.

The Venus Concept is a slightly raised sedan in a special “Radiant Gold” color, whose sharp lines and aggressive front end with slim LED headlights and a large grille even somewhat recall the design language of the Lamborghini brand. Inside, it offers a radically designed ambience with gold accents and a wide panoramic infotainment screen in front of the passenger, which undoubtedly serves as technological inspiration for future production models.

The Earth Concept, on the other hand, presents a robust and even more dramatically designed SUV in “Aurora Shield” paint, featuring a bold front grille and opposite-opening rear doors. Its cabin is focused on a smart living experience with a tablet-style center display and special seats with air modules, with which Hyundai aims to offer advanced comfort and uncompromising quality to Chinese consumers.
