Volkswagen has introduced exclusive, musically themed special editions of the Golf and Golf GTI models specifically for the Austrian market in honor of the legendary Austrian musician Falco.
Volkswagen in Austria continues the tradition of special music series from the 1990s and presents the Golf Falco Edition, which is available exclusively for the market of our northern neighbors. The standard version brings matrix LED headlights, 18-inch wheels and a top-of-the-line Harman Kardon sound system, while the exterior is decorated with black details and special stickers with Falco's signature and texts on the B and C pillars. Upon purchase, drivers also receive an exclusive gift box with Beats Studio Pro headphones and a "Falco 3" vinyl record, and the price of the vehicle with bonuses starts at EUR 27.490 (the regular price according to the price list is EUR 32.990).

Even more exclusive is the sporty Golf GTI Falco Edition, which will be produced in a strictly limited series of just 40 units and is powered by a 195 kW (265 hp) engine. This collector's model stands out with a black painted roof, 19-inch wheels, a Black-Style optical package and the adaptive DCC chassis, while the color palette offers a choice of black, red and moon gray. The interior is decorated with a plate with the car's serial number, and the wheels have hub caps with the musician's signature. The price of this exclusive model starts at EUR 50.990 with bonuses, while the regular price is EUR 56.490.
With this exclusive move, Volkswagen wants to emphasize its strong local connection to the Austrian market, as Falco is perhaps the most famous Austrian musician after Mozart, and the Golf model has dominated the market there in terms of sales since 1974. The special series serves as a direct tribute to Austrian pop culture and at the same time a reminder that music remains firmly anchored in the brand's strategy. Fans of the brand and musician from other countries, including Slovenia, will therefore have no choice but to buy across the border if they want to bring this unique blend of automotive and musical history into their garage.

This is not the first direct contact between Volkswagen and popular music. In the 1990s, Volkswagen orchestrated a unique connection between the automotive industry and the music industry when it sponsored major European tours of cult rock bands. To celebrate these events, the Germans presented three special series based on the third-generation Golf: a model in honor of the band Pink Floyd was launched in 1994, followed by a Rolling Stones edition in 1995, and this extraordinary musical trio was completed by the Bon Jovi series in 1996. A little earlier, in 1992, Volkswagen had used a similar strategy to honor the European tour of the band Genesis, although this series was more focused on the related Polo and Golf Cabriolet models.
These special editions differed from the classic models mainly in terms of richer standard equipment and exclusive design details that celebrated the individual musical group. The vehicles were adorned with unique exterior emblems on the B-pillars and on the trunk, special seat covers with sewn-in logos, and upgraded sound systems that satisfied even the most demanding listeners.
