Chevrolet surprisingly and early revealed the long-awaited new version of the legendary model to the public at the endurance race.
After months of speculation and rumors, the new Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport made its surprise debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring in Florida. Although the American manufacturer has yet to reveal official technical details, early visitors and photographers have already caught a glimpse of the new sports car ahead of its official unveiling. The vehicle made its live debut in its iconic exterior, featuring the distinctive Admiral Blue paint scheme.
The first photos from the scene show that the newcomer uses an extended body, which strongly resembles the E-Ray model. In addition to the blue base, the exterior is also enhanced by a central white racing stripe, black wheels and the recognizable trademark of the Grand Sport models - red stripes on the rear fenders. These visual upgrades clearly indicate that this is a more powerful and aerodynamically aggressively designed version within the C8 family.
Although specifications remain under wraps, experts expect the new 6,7-liter V8 engine to be installed, which according to unofficial information should develop approximately 393 kW (535 hp) of power and also have more than 600 Nm of torque. There are also rumors about the arrival of an even more powerful version of the Grand Sport X with a hybrid powertrain, which is expected to replace the current E-Ray model. Until official confirmation from Chevrolet, exact figures remain unknown, but initial estimates indicate that the starting price could be around 90 thousand euros.
