G-Power BMW M5: Veyron-level power

G-Power has unveiled a modification of the new BMW M5 that pushes the powertrain to an astonishing 735 kW (1000 hp) and 1200 Nm of torque.

Despite modern trends, BMW has retained the eight-cylinder engine in the new M5, which already develops an impressive 535 kW (727 hp) and 1000 Nm of torque as standard. However, renowned tuning company G-Power has taken this potential to a whole new level and created a version called the G5M Bi-Turbo. By installing new, more efficient exhaust pipes with 200-cell sports catalytic converters, improved intercoolers, a new exhaust system and optimizing the engine electronics, the car now boasts 735 kW (1000 hp) and 1200 Nm of torque, which brings it very close to the performance of the original Bugatti Veyron.

For customers who do not need maximum power, G-Power offers several intermediate upgrade stages. With software optimization alone, the eight-cylinder can develop 625 kW (850 hp), with the addition of a sports exhaust system, the power increases to 662 kW (900 hp), and the installation of more powerful flow pipes brings 699 kW (950 hp). Although official acceleration data for the most powerful version is not yet known, the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h will certainly be noticeably shorter than the 3,5 seconds that the production model needs to achieve this feat.

The entire modification package, which deliberately preserves the completely factory-like exterior appearance, costs just over EUR 31.000. This price does not include optional carbon fiber accessories, namely the more powerful Eventuri intake system, which is available for EUR 2.856, and the turbocharger inlet for EUR 892. All of the above engine and exhaust system upgrades are available for both the classic sedan version and the more practical Touring station wagon version, and G-Power is probably already preparing even more extreme modifications with larger turbochargers.
