Ferrari Luce with four doors and an electric heart

Ferrari has unveiled its first all-electric model, setting new standards in the luxury vehicle class with its unconventional design, five seats and exceptional performance.

Ferrari has officially entered the electric age with the Luce model, completely breaking with tradition, as it is their first car with four doors and five seats. The unconventional shape, which deviates significantly from the classic lines of the prancing horse, was created by former Apple designer Jony Ive with his studio LoveFrom. The exterior is characterized by clean lines, aerodynamic elements and huge 23- and 24-inch wheels, which are the largest in the history of the brand's production vehicles. Despite the sedan silhouette, the Luce boasts a hatchback-style liftgate, with the rear window lifting together with the trunk, and access to the rear bench is provided by a reverse-opening rear door.

The interior strikes the right balance between physical switches and advanced digital displays, with Maranello deliberately avoiding a complete switch to touch-only operation. The steering wheel, made of recycled aluminum, features a moving instrument panel, while the innovative smart key uses Corning Gorilla Glass and e-ink display technology. Among the most interesting features are the physical lever on the ceiling to activate Launch Mode and the premium audio system with 3000 watts and 21 speakers, which, along with the optional massage seats, proves that the car is tailored to a completely new customer base for premium electric vehicles.

The drivetrain consists of four electric motors that transmit 772 kW (1.050 hp) of system power and 990 Nm of torque to all four wheels, enabling a powerful acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2,5 seconds. Despite its weight of 2.260 kilograms, the car promises the driving dynamics of a vehicle approximately 400 kilograms lighter, which is also helped by the 122 kWh battery built into the bottom, which with its 800-volt architecture, when using appropriate charging stations, enables charging with a power of up to 350 kW and restores 70 kWh of energy in just 20 minutes. An innovative system that uses sensors to amplify the natural mechanical vibrations of components ensures a unique and authentic sound experience worthy of the Ferrari name, and European buyers will have to pay approximately 520 thousand euros for this technological excess.
