The Italian brand has revealed the first details and photos of the new Gamma model, which will be officially presented at the Paris Motor Show in October.
Lancia has unveiled the first official photos and technical details of the new Gamma model, which, unlike its historic sedan predecessor, returns to the market as a hatchback or fastback crossover. The new model measures 4,67 meters in length, 1,89 meters in width and 1,66 meters in height. The car is based on Stellantis' modular STLA Medium platform, which it shares with the related DS No8 model, and series production will take place at the modernized Melfi factory in Italy.
The range of powertrains is opened by an entry-level hybrid, which offers a power of 107 kW (145 hp) and, according to official data, promises a total range of more than 1.000 kilometers. It is followed by three fully electric versions with different battery capacities. The entry-level electric model develops 169 kW (230 hp) and provides a range of more than 540 kilometers, while a step higher is the version with 180 kW (245 hp) and a range of over 740 kilometers. At the very top of the range will be the flagship with two electric motors and all-wheel drive, which together develop a system power of 276 kW (375 hp) and provide up to 675 kilometers of range on a single charge.
The exterior of the vehicle is characterised by a bold LED front light signature and black decorative elements on the C-pillar, which are linked in design to the original Gamma Berlino. The prestige-oriented passenger compartment is dominated by digitalisation and the advanced SALA infotainment system, which uses a 10,25-inch display in front of the driver and a central 16-inch touchscreen. A special feature of the design is the unique centre console with an integrated round coffee table (tavolino), which emphasises the Italian sense of elegance. Order books for the new Lancia Gamma will open immediately after the end of the summer, and official prices will be announced in the coming months.
