MG has revealed the exterior of its new flagship, the 07, which combines the design of luxury coupes, electrified powertrains and advanced autonomous driving at a very affordable price.
The MG brand, which operates under the umbrella of the Chinese concern SAIC, has revealed the design of its new flagship, the 07. The car, which the company described as the ultimate choice in the "new energy coupe segment", is strongly and unmistakably reminiscent of the Porsche Taycan with its design. Despite the lines inspired by prestigious vehicles that cost over a hundred thousand, the basic version of the MG 07 model will be available on the domestic market for less than 27.000 euros.
The exterior is characterized by C-shaped headlights, a pronounced hood and a wide lower opening with active air deflectors. The dynamic silhouette with a low-slung roof is complemented by air vents on the front fenders and retractable door handles. The technical basis will be provided by the new generation of the NEV platform, with buyers being able to choose between plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrains, while the manufacturer has not yet revealed the exact technical specifications of power and torque.
The technological pinnacle of the offer will be better-equipped versions with an estimated price of around forty thousand euros, which will be equipped with the advanced Momenta R7 autonomous driving system. Relying on a noticeable lidar sensor above the windshield, the system promises autonomous navigation in urban centers and sovereign automatic parking. According to the manufacturer, the software not only imitates human driving, but also includes advanced prediction and proactive safety maneuvers, and during autonomous driving itself, the car will warn the surroundings with special light signals in turquoise.
