Mitsubishi Pajero will have a digital tribute in the cockpit

It's no longer a secret that Mitsubishi will launch its legendary Pajero as an all-new off-road SUV in the second half of 2026. The Japanese automaker is now turning its attention to one very special detail in the cabin that is sure to excite traditional fans: the legendary multi-meter is back!

The new Mitsubishi Pajero will feature a triple digital display, designed as a direct homage to the iconic instrument cluster that became so popular in previous generations of the off-road vehicle. Mitsubishi is clearly emphasizing the vehicle’s authentic off-road capability and ruggedness. The system has been specifically developed by engineers to optimize the driving experience off-road and to display key information in one place.

The dashboard in the new Pajero provides the driver with a wealth of real-time information that is indispensable for demanding off-road driving. In addition to the current altitude and compass direction, this also includes the outside temperature and the body's inclination and lean angle. In addition, the display shows the current torque distribution between the left and right sides of the vehicle. Thanks to these measured values, drivers always have the constantly changing driving conditions and vehicle dynamics under control.

Whether it's steep climbs, winding mountain roads or narrow, indented forest paths: the instruments must provide the necessary safety. Even on uneven rocky terrain or in deep mud after heavy rain, the system provides just the technical feedback needed to maintain confidence and control in a wide variety of natural landscapes around the world.

Mitsubishi emphasizes on its website dedicated to the new Pajero how closely the identity of the new model is linked to this set of instruments. The Japanese automaker goes into detail about this feature, deliberately placing the historical development and technical refinement of the multi-meter in the spotlight.
