Fiat 500 Hybrid Cabriolet Dolcevita: A special model for the summer

Fiat is expanding the Fiat 500 family with a new, limited special model called the Fiat 500 Hybrid Dolcevita. The car is available exclusively in convertible form with an electrically operated fabric roof.

Fiat is conceptually upgrading the 2019 500 special model of the same name. The name refers to the Italian film classic "La Dolce Vita" by director Federico Fellini, which was released in 1960.

The standard equipment of the limited edition includes special design features on the body. These include a blue fabric roof, chrome exterior mirror caps, and full LED headlights at the front and LED taillights at the rear. The vehicle is fitted ex works with 16-inch light-alloy wheels in a so-called “diamond” design.

Special "Dolcevita" lettering (badges) on the sides of the vehicle indicate the status of this version. The exterior color is "Ice White" as standard; customers can also choose the metallic "Celestial Blue" color as an option.

The interior features two-tone "Torino" seats with a checkered pattern. The dashboard is painted in the vehicle color and has a chrome frame. The visual details include woven lettering with the brand name "Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino" (FIAT) and embossed "500" logos.

Factory-fitted comfort features include automatic air conditioning, electric windows for the front side windows and four-way adjustable and heated front seats. The integrated infotainment system is operated via a freely adjustable, high-resolution touchscreen with a screen diagonal of 10,25 inches (26 centimeters). Smartphones can be connected wirelessly via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

This special model is equipped with various electronic assistance systems. In addition to the Electronic Stability Control (ESC), which includes a traction control system, the convertible is also equipped with an autonomous emergency braking system and a lane keeping system. In addition, a traffic sign recognition system and a cruise control system with an integrated speed limiter function are also available. Manoeuvring is made easier by an HD reversing camera, the live image of which is transmitted to the central display in the dashboard.

On the drive side, the vehicle uses a mild hybrid system configuration. The petrol engine has an output of 48 kW (65 PS) and is temporarily supported by a compact electric motor while driving. This support is activated in particular during acceleration and when starting from a standstill to relieve the internal combustion engine. The battery required for the system is charged exclusively during recuperation driving. Combined fuel consumption is an average of 5,2 liters per 100 kilometers.

The Fiat 500 Hybrid Dolcevita is now available for order. The manufacturer's recommended retail price (RRP) for the fully equipped special model in Germany starts at 24.990 euros.
