Almost a decade after the premiere of Lamborghini's first SUV, a lot has changed. The original Urus hit the road with a biturbo V8 engine, which was later given an even sharper Performante version, and in 2024 the updated SE brought a plug-in hybrid drive. The performance story now continues with the new Urus SE Performante, which takes on the role of the fastest and most powerful bull in the family so far.
Engineers have squeezed a system output of 800 horsepower and a massive 1001 Nm of torque from the 4,0-liter biturbo V8 and synchronous electric motor, which is 11 hp and 50 Nm more than the standard SE hybrid. According to Lamborghini's measurements, this is enough to claim the title of the fastest super-SUV in the world: it shoots from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 3,3 seconds, and acceleration only stops at a final speed of 312 km/h. Power is transferred to all four wheels via a recalibrated eight-speed automatic transmission and electronically controlled center clutch, which drastically reduces response time and torque "gap". When the driver wants a quiet and calm ride, a 25,9 kWh battery pack, located under the floor of the trunk for a lower center of gravity, provides this, allowing up to 59,5 kilometers of purely electric autonomy.

But since the Performante badge doesn't just mean straight-line power, the Italians have seriously rolled up their sleeves when it comes to dynamics. The upgraded dual-chamber air suspension reduces body roll in corners by an impressive 55 percent compared to the regular SE, while also limiting vibrations by a quarter. When you add the new Pirelli P Zero tires with a diameter of 22 or 23 inches, mechanical grip improves by 6 percent, and the entire car reacts 12 percent faster to driver commands when maneuvering.
Thanks to an extreme diet that includes extensive use of carbon fiber on the hood, roof and side sills, the newcomer is almost 32 kilograms lighter than the SE model, bringing the total curb weight to 2473 kilograms. The weight reduction is also contributed by a lighter Akrapovič exhaust system (saving 10 kg), an integrated brake system (saving 4 kg) and an optimized sound insulation package (saving 3,3 kg). The visual changes with a wider front end and a carbon fiber rear spoiler are not just for decoration - aerodynamic drag is reduced by 3 percent, downforce is increased by 16 percent compared to the previous Performante (or 23 percent compared to the standard SE), and brake cooling is 8 percent more efficient.
