Honda Super-N: The Japanese electric baby is coming to Europe

The affordable and compact electric model brings innovative technology with gear simulation and a power boost function.

Honda is bringing its smallest electric model, the Super-N, to the European market this summer, based on popular Japanese “kei” cars. The latter is one of the most affordable electric vehicles in Europe, with a starting price of around €21.900, competing with models such as the Renault Twingo E-Tech and BYD Dolphin. Despite its extremely compact dimensions, measuring just 3.599 mm long and 1.573 mm wide, the Honda provides comfortable space for four adults. The high level of practicality is also enhanced by the adjustable rear seats, while entertainment and connectivity are provided as standard with a Bose audio system and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

In basic driving mode, the electric powertrain develops 47 kW (64 hp), which is enough to accelerate the 1.097-kilogram vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h in 14,5 seconds. A special feature of the model is the “Boost” button, which temporarily increases the system's power to 70 kW (95 hp), thus shortening the acceleration time to 10,0 km/h to 100 km/h to 100 km/h to 100 km/h. For an even more dynamic and engaging experience, Honda engineers have added a simulated seven-speed gearbox and an artificially created engine sound, inspired by high-performance electric vehicles, which gives the little one an additional sporty character in city traffic.

Due to its low weight and focus on urban mobility, the Super-N is equipped with a compact 29,6 kWh battery. This provides a range of 206 kilometers according to the WLTP combined cycle, and in purely urban driving, this distance can be increased to 320 kilometers, according to the manufacturer. When the battery is empty, the system allows for quick charging, which can charge the battery to 80 percent in approximately 30 minutes. With this model, Honda successfully combines a playful design inspired by the iconic City Turbo II model from the 1980s with efficient urban electric mobility.
