The Peugeot E-208 has been available since 2020; its successor is due to be unveiled next year. A rendering is now available showing the car with a completely new lighting signature.
According to French automotive website L'Argus, the three vertical "claws" of the lion cub on the new Peugeot E-208 will be replaced by three horizontal light bars, with a lion logo in the center. The headlights themselves are said to be built slightly lower into the vertical air intakes on the left and right sides:
The 2025 Polygon concept car, which was likely designed as a preview of the E-208, also featured a front end with three horizontal light lines. A similar motif also appeared on the Chinese Peugeot Concept 6 and Concept 8 concept cars. According to L'Argus, the new front end will be adopted by all future Peugeot models.
At the rear, the E-208 is expected to feature a rectangular strip with slightly protruding taillights from the Polygon concept, while the rest of the bodywork will be much more rounded than the extremely angular concept. The roof spoiler will also be rounded and smaller. The door handles are expected to be built-in.
The French website also provides new information on technology. First, let's summarize what was known so far. At the FastLane event in May, Stellantis announced that Peugeot plans to present two new electric cars in the B-segment in 2028, which will be based on the STLA One platform. According to brand manager Alain Favey, they will complement the existing 208 and 2008 models. Our conclusion was that the new electric versions will join the well-known internal combustion versions based on the CMP platform. The E-208 is expected to adopt elements of the Polygon study from 2025.

These findings were essentially correct. However, according to the newspaper L'Argus, the STLA One platform is simply an adapted version of the STLA Small platform for small vehicles. The name change is said to reflect the fact that the platform is now also suitable for larger models, right up to the mid-range. In addition, it is now a Multi-Energy platform. Although STLA One also supports 800 volts, the new E-208 will remain at 400 volts - for cost reasons it was not possible to expect otherwise. The cells will be manufactured using LFP technology and will be integrated directly into the body using "cell-to-body" technology. The range is expected to increase from the current maximum of 420 km to up to 500 kilometers.
The cells are said to come from CSE (Contemporary Star Energy), a new joint venture between Stellantis and CATL. They are manufactured in Zaragoza, Spain, near the Stellantis factory where the E-208 model is already being produced. The motors, currently supplied by Emotors (a joint venture with Nidec), could initially be temporarily supplied by Chinese manufacturer Jing-Jin Electric Technologies before Emotors takes over production again.

The new E-208 is expected to be unveiled in spring 2027, with production starting in July 2027. A sporty version of the old model, the E-208 GTI, will still be on display at the Paris Motor Show in October 2026. This 207 kW version is expected to remain available after the launch of the new E-208 – until the new model also gets a sporty version. The internal combustion engine version is also expected to continue to be produced, possibly until the 30s.
