Lewis Hamilton: 12 races, 8 wins, but unsatisfied

Five-time world champion Lewis Hamilton boasts the following balance sheet after twelve races this season: 8 wins, 250 points, a convincing lead. But the Briton is not entirely satisfied.

After winning the home race in Silverstone, Yippee Lewis Hamilton said: “This is perhaps the best first half of the season I have ever shown in Formula 1.”Not much should change on this sentence, because after the eighth victory in the race for Hungarian GP, Hamilton is convincing in the lead, he scored 250 points, his first follower, teammate Valtteri Bottas, but he has 188. He is only three wins away from his own best mark of eleven wins of the season (2011 and 2018). He is five wins away from the absolute record they set Michael Schumacher (in 2004) and Sebastian Vettel (in 2013), with thirteen wins each.

He was the first to cross the finish line 81 times

All Lewis Hamilton he would not be the most successful racer Formula 1 of today, if I rested on success. “Winning eight out of twelve races is definitely outstanding,”Hamilton said after the race in Hungary. “But I personally look at this balance much more like this: Okay, we won eight times, but why didn’t we win four times? What should we do better in these races? ”

A regular guest is not only on the red carpets, but also on the Formula 1 podium

"It is clear to me that we have had a lot of luck with some of the victories this year. There were races when Ferrari was faster. But due to a mistake by the racer or the team, the victory went wrong. In Bahrain or Baku, Ferrari should win. This shows how much we are moving at the limit. I maintain that we do not take this for granted,He added Hamilton. "Maybe that’s one of the reasons we’ve remained so successful over the years. We are never satisfied. We always go to the race with the same approach. It is true that we have won great successes, but at the beginning of the racing weekend everything is set to zero and only because of the constant hard work we are in the game."

Hamilton continues: “On the outside, everything looks so simple, but I know very well how hard our people work to stay successful. We have to prove ourselves week after week. Ferrari has a race car that is incredibly fast, but their aerodynamic philosophy shows that they are not fast everywhere. I don’t know what he did with the race car Red Bull, in any case, they have improved significantly and have also more than obviously made progress on the engine."

He rejoices in victory, but defeats anger him

And what Hamilton expects from the rest of this season? “I am convinced that we will experience greater resistance from our competitors. We have a good and fast race car. However, we need to be able to continue to get the best out of the race car in order to stay on top. There is no talk of perfection here. We still have many areas to improve."
