RENOVATION of the racetrack in SPAJ is in full swing

At the racetrack in Spa-Francorchamps this year also in the winter the engines roar, but this time those on heavy machinery, as in this legendary venue they decided to renovate several segments of the track, especially in terms of improving the safety of participants.

With the renovation, the racetrack is also expected to get approval for the implementation of motorcycle competitions, which makes the changes quite extensive in places. Restoration work began on November 15 and is expected to stand around 80 million. The investment is intended for the long-term connection of Formula 1 and other major racing series to the track in They connect.

The most popular events include the Formula 1 race for GP of Belgium, 24-hour endurance race Spaja and WEC series races. In addition, on June 22, 2022 v Spa-Francorchamps a 24-hour motorcycle race took place.

To obtain a license World Motorcycle Federation (FIM) several excursion zones need to be adapted to the needs of two-wheeled sport. Some excursion zones will be increased, others will be asphalt replaced with sand.
