Formula 1 year 2021: According to the standard gearbox, the brakes have now fallen

The 2021 rules are still hanging in the air. After the FIA ​​gave up the standardized gearbox some time ago, the ombudsmen gave up the standard brakes just before the deadline.

The umbrella organization FIA wanted with the new rules of the year 2021 introduce some as well standardized parts, thus lowering costs. But it turned out to be realization of this plan difficult to implement. After they put it in the drawer standardized gearbox, is FIA now she has given up yet standardized brakes. As a result, tenders were deleted for braking system in consumables (brake discs and brake linings).

FIA is over standardized brakes justified by the large volume of changes for the year 2021. In an official letter they spoke of extensive changes to the rules and their interpretations by the teams. Prior to that, one tender had already been won by an Italian brake manufacturer Brembo.

But standardized brakes they are not completely cleared from the table, for guardians of the rules they claim: “It was decided that the situation would be reassessed in 2021," so FIA.
