In this case, it is one of the 712 examples produced, which is now also for sale.

Ferrari 308 GTB was introduced at the Paris Motor Show in 1975. In the portfolio Cavalino Rampant was this car as a successor model dinosaur 246 and supplementing the model Dino 308 GT4. Few people know about the more than interesting history of the car in the first years of production.

At first it was the body of the model 308 GTB made of glass fibers. It is believed that only approx 712 copies with a fiberglass body (this 308 is even rarer). One of these cars is now up for auction. Early models 308 GTB were manufactured in the factory Carrozzeria Scaglietti, and their bodies were made entirely of fiberglass-reinforced plastic. This allowed extremely low weight 1.050 kilograms. In June 1977, however, it did Ferrari decided on a steel body, which increased the weight of the car by approx 150 kilograms. Early and lightweight models are now even more sought after Ferrari enthusiasts.

The 308 Ferrari 1976 GTB is made of fiberglass and is a very rare example.

308 GTB drives 2,9 liter V8 engine. Power is transmitted through 5-speed manual gearbox. Models shipped in the US (including the one offered here) have 240 BAM pri 6.600 rpm per minute. Due to the emission regulations in the USA at the time, they were slightly weaker than the European models. The vehicle now being sold was built in June 1976. This is a good year before the end of production of the fiberglass models. Over the years it has GTB changed hands several times. It currently has only 9587 miles on the odometer, which is less than 15.500 kilometers. An auction organized by him RM Sotheby's Monterey, will take place from 17. to 19. August.

As can be seen from the photos, the vehicle has 308 GTB front end and windshield damaged. However, all parts are still present. Also has original engine and first gear, so it is very suitable for restoration.
