Mercedes: With minor improvements against Ferrari in Suzuki

"We showed a strong performance in the race in Russia, we got the best out of our possibilities and Lewis and Valtteri also drove without mistakes. With this we were able to win 44 points, increase the advantage in both championships and we are very motivated to do our best in the remaining five races," so Austrian, who points out, however, that the victory did not change the fact that Ferrari in the second half of the season superior. It therefore announces: "In Japan, we will have some minor improvements to the race car that will, at least I hope, help us take a step in the right direction. However, we are aware that we need to get the most out of our race car and tires if we want to fight for victory in Suzuki."

The chances of winning in Japan are high, as since 2014, the start of the Formula 1 hybrid era, Suzuka has been firmly in the hands of silver arrows.

Wolff continues: “The next race is on the famous track in Suzuki, with exciting corner passages and probably the most enthusiastic fans. There we can look back on the successful balance, as we got all the races on this track in the hybrid period. But given the strength of our competitors, a big challenge awaits us this time. I think we will see a close fight on the track, which we are very much looking forward to. Our goals for the last quarter of the season are clear and it is all up to us to achieve those goals as well."
