ROGER PENSKE: We are talking about the return of Formula 1 to INDIANAPOLIS

In 2007, Formula 1 last competed at the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway. IndyCar series and Indianapolis racetrack owner Roger Penske wants to bring Formula 1 back to his racetrack and confirms talks with Formula One management.

American entrepreneur, 83 years old Roger Penske, is last November for one billion dollars bought a racing series IndyCar and a racetrack Indianapolis Motor Speedway. From 1945 onwards, the racetrack was owned by the Hulman family. Roger Penske is one of the most successful racing team bosses in the world. His team has won all major racing series, totaling more than 500, more than 200 only in series IndyCar, where he has been active since 1968. Penske he won 18 wins of legendary races Indy 500.

Penske he got rich with his transport companies, which employs around 60.000 employees. He has also been a successful racer himself in the past, over the years 1961 in 1962 he also occasionally performed in Formulas 1. Years 1976 is like owning a team with a racer John Watson won the race for GP of Austria. Being the owner of a racetrack, a racing series and at the same time a racer, understandably raises the question of conflict of interest. Penske thinks about this: “Yes, the question of integrity is understandable. We will draw a thick line here and continue to have to prove my credibility. If we exceed certain limits, we will quickly listen to criticism. Believe me, a lot of people look under my fingers."

Roger Penske is also the owner of the IndyCar racing series, in which he competes with his team.

FORMULA 1 BACK TO THE OVAL OF INDIANAPOLIS?

Penske wants in the coming years in Indycar series to attract more manufacturers (at that time only Honda and Chevrolet are present), nor does it exclude return of Formula 1 in Indianapolis. Between the years 2000 in 2007 the race for the US Grand Prix took place here. Penske: “We had Formula 1 and we can bring it back again. I also imagine we could organize a 24-hour race. Speedway is a great racetrack with which we have every possible option.”As for Formula 1, it is Penske said: “My son Greg met with Chase Carey and had some important conversations. Is it time to return to Formula 1? at the time he does not yet know whether this makes economic sense. If so, then this will not happen before the 2022 season."

Formula 1 competed in Indianapolis between 2000 and 2007, and in 2005 there was a major embarrassment as only six race cars competed due to Michelin problems.

The first man of Formula 1, Chase carey, always stressed that he would like to v USA have at least two races, better yet three. Plans v Miami in Florida are due to objections and opposition from the population currently stuck, a possible new race in the famous Las Vegas so it is placed in the cold. formula 1 he desperately wants to race in this city, on the famous Comics, but the casino owners have closed and remain of the opinion that Formula 1 needs Las Vegas more than Las Vegas Formula 1.

Chase Carey, the first man of Formula 1, is pushing for the royal motorsport class to have at least two races in the U.S., preferably three, but Miami has stalled, and in Las Vegas it’s all put together in the cold. So will the famous oval in Indianapolis come into play?
