The first and probably the only one is finished a virtual race for 24 hours Le Mans. 50 teams, each with four drivers, are on the famous track Circuit of the Sarthe raced from Saturday from 15pm CET to 15pm today. Racers took part in the virtual race in their homes around the world.
A good number of professionals from Simracer took part in the virtual endurance race Formula 1, WEC series, IMSA, various GT-series and even from the series Indycar ter Formulas. In large size, the teams consisted of two racers from the real world of racing and two from sim-racing, and two teams (Penske and United Autosports) were made up exclusively of professional racers.
The race was also attended by three Slovenian simracer, Jernej Simoncic (in the end he took second place with his team ByKolles) and the winner of the virtual Formula E, kevin siggy (Jota Team Redline) performed in the LMP class, Alen Terzic and for the Corvette Racing team in the GTE class.
He competed in the top class of the LMP 30 virtual race cars category LMP2 - Oreca 07. The victory in the class and thus the overall victory in the race was won by the car with the number 24 team after 1 hours Rebellion, which, like the other three, was prepared in collaboration with Williams eSports. Louis Deletraz, Raffaele Marciello and sim-racer Nikodem Wisniewski in Cuba Brzezinski they brought victory after 371 rounds of Rebellion / Williams.
Their teammates in car no. 13, Canapino, Aitken, Gassner in Romanidis they finished on the third podium, between the two Rebellion however, the crew of the team managed to infiltrate By Kolles in posture Tom Dillmann, Esteban Guerrieri, Jesper Pedersen in our Jernej Simončič. Max Verstappen in Lando Norris together with Atzej Kerhof in Greger Hutu long fought for the very top and after ten hours they were even in the lead, but it is Verstappen flew off the track. It later turned out to be technical problems and not for Max’s fault.
Probably the most an interesting non-virtual event he took care of the races simon pagenaud, whose steering wheel failed in the middle of the race and he had to replace the simulator. Pagenaud was on the team without simracer, which was evident in the end. Together with Juan-Pablo Montoyo, Deane Cameron in Ricky Taylor he finished 27th.
V GTE class with 20 virtual car manufacturers Aston Martin, Chevrolet (Corvette), Ferrari in Porsche, it all revolved around Porsche no. 93. He is already in the qualifiers simracer Joshua Rogers set the fastest time, and throughout the race the team in the lineup Rogers, Nick Tandy, Ayhancan Güven in Tomme Östgaard controlled the situation and sovereignly celebrated the victory. Second place was won by the Aston Martin team in the squad with a stop round Nicki Thiim, Richard Westbrook, Lasse Sorensen in Manuel Biancolilla, but it was more competitive Romain Grosjean R8G team, but without the Frenchman in the lineup. With the Corvette, they were relatively close to Porsche for a long time, but they were stopped by a collision that threw them back quite a bit and the dream of winning was over.
