MotoGP, GP ANDALUSIA, FP1: Double YAMAHA lead with Vinales and Rossi

The Yamaha factory duo, Maverick Vinales and Valentino Rossi, were the fastest in the first free practice for the Andalusian GP in Jerez.

Double leadership Yamaha at the first MotoGP free practice on the second racing weekend in Jerez. Maverick Vinales secured the fastest time in front of his teammate in the morning with a time of 1: 37.063 minutes Valentino Rossi. The duo separated by only 0,142 seconds. Factory driver of the Austrian KTM team, Brad Binder, was a very good third, three tenths behind the leading Spaniard.

Twenty-one racers took to the track in the morning. Cal Crutchlow (LCR-Honda) and alex rins (Suzuki) are due to injury missed the first race in Jerez and in the first free practice they mainly assessed how ready they are and how they feel on the motorcycle. Marc Marquez (Honda) only wants to try it tomorrow, today is still a day off for the champion, who fell badly in the first race.

Most racers started training with a combination of soft in medium tires. Yamaha star Red, who announced he wanted to try something different this weekend, drove a hard front tire in the first run.

After the fastest time Valentina Rossi, who remained in first place for quite some time, his teammate in the last attempt just slipped past the Italian and in the end was left with a double Yamaha lead. KTM's newcomer came in third Brad Binder.

Franco Morbidelli finished training in fourth place, behind them Jack Miller (Bow), Takaaki Nakagami (LCR-Honda), Alex Espargaro (Aprilia) and Andrea Dovizioso in tenth place. The winner of the first race, a Frenchman Quarterly finished in 13th place.
