AUDI R8 Green Hell: A tribute to the successful AUDI R8 LMS

Since 2012, the Audi R8 LMS has won five overall victories in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring, considered one of the toughest and most popular races in the world. As a tribute to the great success story ahead of this year’s race, Audi presents a limited special Audi R8 Green Hell series.

Close connection between road car and a real race car will also be evident in this year 's 24 - hour race at Nürburgring. The No. 3 GT1 race car to be driven by the team Audi Sport Team Phoenix, is covered with foil in dark green and is therefore similar in appearance to the model R8 Green Hell.

This exclusive status is noticeable at first glance. According to the name 'Green Hell' the exterior is painted in dark as standard thioman green, and as an option, customers can also choose between ibis white, Dayton gray and mythological black. The front cover, A-pillar, roof and rear are partially covered with matte black foil in the style of a race car.

On the door, the serial number is printed with large, translucent matte digits that give the impression of start numbers. It is mounted on the side aperture and windshield Green Hell R8 logo in gleaming black. The matte black package of exterior elements emphasizes the front, side sills and diffuser, complemented by side apertures, exterior mirror housings and a rear air deflector in the same shade. The basis for an exclusive model R8 Green Hell was Audi R8 V10 Performance four in coupe design. Its mighty atmospheric V10 engine has its own power that amounts to 456 kW (620 HP) via a 7-speed transmission S-Tronic transmits to all four wheels. The quattro drive, which distributes power freely between the front and rear axles if necessary, is specially adapted to the centrally mounted engine. Audi R8 Green Hell manufactured in the manufactory Bollinger Hofe not far from Audi's factory in Neckarsulm. There, flexibility is extremely important.
