International Court of Sports CAS is on Tuesday at the appeal hearing in the case of allegations of doping of a MotoGP driver, Andrea Iannone, ruled against the Italian. The arguments of the appeal were thus not upheld. The verdict brought the Italian the highest possible penalty - a four-year ban from racing, which means that Iannone may not compete up to and including December 16, 2023
Iannone he responded to the verdict with great sadness, but also with a determination to fight on. “Today I experienced the greatest injustice I could ever imagine. You have torn my heart and separated me from my greatest love, ” commented on the decision on Instagram.
Accusations that he did doped, have no logical basis and were "Supplemented by false facts", said Iannone. Despite that 31-year-old Italian bitter, he is at the same time determined that he has done nothing wrong and that he will therefore fight on: "There will still be a good time and place for everything together… Because I will definitely not give up."
"I knew it," said Iannone, “That I am dealing with a strong institution, but I still hoped. I hoped for intellectual honesty and a decision for justice. ”
"Anyone who has tried to ruin my life will soon understand how strong I am in my heart," he announced Iannone, relying on “The power of innocence and above all a clear conscience”. He concluded his statement with the words: "Punishment can change events, but not people."
