STROLL: People who want me to fail in FORMULA 1 are FUEL for me

Lance Stroll, a Racing Point racer, says critics who hope he will fail in Formula 1 because of the financial support he has received in his career are just fuel for him.

Lance stroll entered Formula 1 years 2017 namely to the team Williams, was 18 years old at the time. Prior to that, he dominantly won the title of champion Formula 3. In 2019, he joined the team Racing Point, which his father Lawrence bought in mid-2018.

Throw had a mixed season this year. V Turkey won his first pole position, v Monza finished on the podium, racing on Nürburgring however, he was unable to attend due to coronavirus infection. But he also had quite a bit of bad luck, as he was involved in many incidents, most of which he was not guilty of. In a podcast conversation Beyond the Grid, is Stroll responded to criticism and commented: "I like them, I fill myself with them. If you don’t face criticism, then it eats away at you on the inside. I think I’ve learned to accept them and use them as energy to prove to people that they’re wrong. I love it, I use them as fuel."

Lance Stroll admitted that he has come to terms with criticism at his own expense and that he responds to criticism only on the track.

"But, I always told myself that I would only talk on the track and that was the way it was from day one. Where I come from and my background inspires many people who hope I fail. It is right for me, because everyone has the right to their opinion. At the end of the day I speak on the track, before entering Formula 1 I won the championships in Formula 4, Formula 3, Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand and then I was already on the podium in Formula 1 and I also won pole position," so Stroll, who also acknowledges that he still has room for improvement as a racer, but insists that his place in Formulas 1 earned.

Among Stroll’s biggest critics is his compatriot Jacques Villeneuve, who misses no opportunity to say any at the expense of his background.

"This is something I’ve been working on for the last few years and I think my consistency can be even better. Then he’s here for a year at Williams when we had a really bad race car, which was a very tough season for me. But even in Formula 1, I proved that I deserve to be here. It will always be the same and I have already recognized that. When people do bad, then others start talking bad about them, but when you do good, all the people are there and want a piece of the pie. It's all part of the circus," Ends Lance stroll.
