SAINZ: The 2022 rules should once again put RACERS at the forefront

Carlos Sainz hopes the new rules, which take effect in 2022, will do what is being said and that Formula 1 will once again be at the forefront of racing.

In recent years, only three teams have shared victories Red Bull, Ferrari and of course serial champions Mercedes. The other seven teams only had the role of extras in the championship Formula 1 and were fighting for their own midfield or second league championship. It also fell into the gray average last year Ferrari, so there are only two left at the top Mercedes in Red Bull, who shared the top step with an exception VN Sakhir, where the first place was won by Sergio Perez from Racing Point.

But it will take effect this year budget ceiling, with which lavish spending of money will become a thing of the past, for the year 2022 but it comes completely new policy, with which Formula 1 will establish more equivalent conditions with increased chances of overtaking. And at this stage Sainz considers that Formula 1 should be more dependent on racers rather than the performance of the car. “I wish Formula 1 would have a more level playing field in the future so that racers can make bigger differences,”So the Spaniard for colleagues from Motorsport.com. "When you get into Formula 1, you realize very quickly that it is very difficult to beat any racer who has a three tenths of a second faster car, because as a racer for the last two tenths you fight with a teammate. But if someone beats you for 1,5 seconds, then you realize you’re not really competing with them."

Carlos Sainz hopes the new 2022 rules will create a more even field and that the racer will be the one to make the biggest difference.

New racer Ferrari continues: “I wish the whole field could come closer. I think the FOM, Liberty Media and the FIA did a very good job with the new regulations in 2022 and gave it a chance. Let’s hope this happens and that the sport of racing becomes a bit more human-dependent and less machine-dependent. I think the competition can be significantly tighter and thus more fun. This will help increase the number of spectators and fans and I think that would be better for everyone,He added Sainz, which as said after two years of racing for McLaren move to Maranello.
