Carlos SAINZ with critiques of demanding NAVIGATION: This is no longer DAKAR!

Spanish matador and Dakar Rally legend Carlos Sainz Sr. is highly critical of the complex navigation on this year’s Dakar.

Sainz he also has like-minded people among motorcyclists. Austrian Matthias walkner, the 2018 Dakar winner, says: “The day started catastrophically. I got lost at least four to five times in the first 65 miles. Then Toby Price and I tried to make up for lost time, but we got lost again. ”

“The whole stage was very challenging from a navigation standpoint and a lot of other drivers had similar problems as me. It's hard to motivate myself for the next stages because I'm so angry, ” he adds Austrian.

On the other hand, currently leading Peterhansel is very happy with the route and says "Navigation, of course, was not easy, but it was a nice challenge in any case. And the challenges are the essence of the Dakar."
