Steyr Concept was created in collaboration with companies FPT Industrial in Steyr, where they tried to answer the question of what the tractor should look like in the future and what requirements it should meet. The answer to the question was largely captured by the Steyr Konzept tractor, which combines in a unique way innovative technologies and creates an environmentally friendly yet effective and functional look at tractor in the future.
The center of the system represents modular hybrid electric propulsion system, consisting of an internal combustion engine, a generator and five electric motors, all of which are individually controlled. Four electric motors are mounted in the hubs of the wheels and are powered via a centrally mounted battery. Infinitely variable electric drive with less moving parts, it provides higher energy efficiency than current tractors. The increased efficiency is due to the non-use of the transmission and other hydraulically controlled components.

The use of electric motors on each of the four wheels means that the tractor optimally regulates the torque on each wheel according to needs.
