Statements

MaxVerstappen, Red Bull - winner"Immediately after the start, I braked normally before the first turn, but obviously not enough. This moment was a sign for the rest of the first stint. Poor tire grip and also due to the setting of the car. The wind was significantly stronger and in combination with the above, starting the race with a smaller rear wing was difficult. Because it had rained before, grip was poor in the first third of the race, but after the second stop, the feeling in the car was normal again. The whole race was a big fight and this will continue throughout the season."

Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes - second place"We can take a lot of positives from today. So I don’t see this as a difficult day. I did everything I could today, I didn’t really make any mistakes and was generally happy with the situation and the results. It would be nice to win, but these guys are too fast now. This weekend they have taken a big step forward as we are 0,35 seconds behind on the planes. We need to figure out what the reason is, whether it’s a plane or a motor. We need to improve. Now we go to the track where there will be two races and where steady speed is important, so it will be difficult."

Sergio Perez, Red Bull - third place"Basically, the team did a great job because they left me outside in the first stint. The car was quite impassable in the first ten laps. Tire degradation, however, was higher than expected. The team made the right decision. We operated the tires when needed. It would take three more rounds to be able to catch Lewis as well. Despite the podium, however, my weekend was not as perfect as I would have liked. We need to continue to improve."
