February Formula 1 they have quite a bit of work to do with providing at the time planned race calendar this year. Despite some cancellations, they are doing well in finding spare racetracks, but autumn could be even more varied, as new cancellations are already being announced.
But because time is running fast and the season is approaching 2022 z a new generation of race cars, it is necessary to work in this area as well. And according to colleagues from car engine and sport, racers and teams are expected to be available again next year two weeks of preparation. Briefly two weeks of testing, total six days. You three additional days compared to this year’s testing, they are of course needed to be tested a new generation of race cars. All teams are expected to stand up for it. Another difference in terms of testing, according to German colleagues, is that two weeks of testing will be done on various racetracks.
Testing will begin in Barcelona namely from February 23-25. Then, just like in previous years, there will be a two-week break. From March 11-13 however, a second round of testing will take place in Bahrain. In the meantime, the teams will have time to analyze the data from the first test week, mainly for safety reasons and to give the teams extra time to rescue first problems with the new car. And the fact that the second week of testing will be in Bahrain, it is not so strange, because the 2022 season - just like this year - is supposed to start in Bahrain, because from Australia we can already hear that the introduction to the 2022 season is less and less probable for them. Thus, the new season is set to begin with new race cars March 20 in Bahrain.
However, it will be necessary for this purpose change the sports rules, saj Article 8.5a currently stipulates that there must be at least ten days between the last test day and the start of the new season. This would not be the case with the current testing setup. There are also data on second race of the 2022 season, which is scheduled to take place a week after Bahrain and it will Saudi Arabia, which will host the Formula 1 race for the first time this year towards the end of the year.
