Ferrari's RUSSIAN test driver will drive with an ISRAEL license

Mattia Binotto confirmed that they are counting on Robert Shwartzman despite the ban on Russian athletes.

Iz Ferrari stables they have announced that they will be their test racer Robert Schwartzman in this season’s Israeli-licensed vehicle, which allows him to continue working with the Italian team. Schwartzman has so far competed under a Russian license, but due to restrictions and bans on Russian athletes competing in F1 under the Russian flag, his Ferrari it would not be possible.

Robert Schwartzman finished second in the Formula 2 season last year and has been a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy since 2017. At the end of last season, he also performed in tests for Haas in Ferrari, and this season he is expected to perform the duties of a test racer of the team from Maranella.

Due to measures resulting from sanctions due to Russian invasion of Ukraine, Shwartzman decided to perform with an Israeli license this year as he was born in Israel and has dual citizenship of Russia and Israel.
