Daniel RICCIARDO will set the AUSTRALIAN RECORD in Spain this year

Daniel Ricciardo will overtake Mark Webber this weekend as the Australian with the most starts in the race in Spain.

The driver of team McLaren will start with Sunday's race to become the Australian racer with the most appearances in Formula 1. So far he has collected 215, starting at GP of Spain however, he will also overtake his Canberra compatriot.

Mark Webber he ended his F1 career after the end of the 2013 season and with that Ricciard enabled the arrival of Red Bull, where he became a teammate Sebastian Vettl. Racer from Perth began his Formula 1 racing career with the team HRT, and then drove for bull rosso, Red Bull, Renault in McLaren.

Mark Webber will no longer be the Australian record holder in the number of appearances in Formula 1 races from Sunday.

It was earlier this year eight-time winner races for the Grand Prix named as a member of the Order of Australia in recognition of his “Important merits for the development of motorsport as a competitor and ambassador and his contribution to the community”.

Ricciard in Webber three-time champion follows in Australian drivers' eternal standings in Formula One racing --Jack Brabham, followed by two Alan Jones in Team Schenken.
