Is FIAT planning to bring back the 600 and MULTIPLE models?

According to one blog online, Fiat is reportedly planning a renaissance of the 600 and Multipla models. This is supposed to be a crossover in the B segment and an SUV.

Will the Fiat 600 and Multipla return?

Few people realize that he was Fiat Seicento between the years 1999 in 2002 also available as an electric car. Seicento Elettra with Siemens technology, it stood at the time 21.000 euros, a top speed of 100 km/h, and with a lead-acid battery the driver could drive away 90 kilometers.

However, this model in the car market he didn't cut down trees and was anything but successful, with less than 300 vehicles sold in total. Rates for a potential new release as is fiat 600e (seicento means 600 in Italian) so they are very small, but this is exactly the step that Fiat is planning, looking at the blog page Passion for Italian Cars. What's more, the name is expected to reappear in the portfolio in mid-2024 Multipla. However, not as a volume van, which has been talked about a lot in the past - mainly due to its appearance - but as SUV in accordance with the spirit of the times.

Both the Fiat 2026 and the Multipla appear on Fiat's 600 roadmap.

So far, as can be seen in the blog, it is Multipla only the name used internally. But many manufacturers use historical designations for modern new cars, as we can see at Renault with R4 and R5 models. Multiple should be made in Turkey, but she would stand on the platform CMP and replaced the Tipo model. Other sources report production at Slovakia, where various Peugeots and Citroens are currently manufactured in the Trnava factory near Bratislava. The fact that Fiat will be its own model speaks for production in Turkey Doblo including the electric variant, which he manufactured in Turkey, now moved to Spain. And the planned drive for the Multiplo? Electric, of course.

Technically related

As for the future Fiat 600 in 600e, the author of the blog writes about four meters long and 1,52 meters high segment B crossover, which is also based on the platform CMP and is envisioned as a gasoline, hybrid, and electric car. Production should take place on Poland, and the website says that sales will begin in September 2023.

Multipla - a car about which opinions were formed when it came to its external appearance...

The choice of platform is strategically obvious within the concern. Fiat 600 in Multiple SUVs would thus become technical relatives Opel Mokka, Jeep Avenger in Peugeot 2008. This CMP platform has been in use since 2018, making its debut with the car DS 3 Crossback. Meanwhile, almost all brands of the group now stellantis they use this “Common Modular Platform”. Are there rumors about Fiat 600and Multiple true, the manufacturer has not yet commented.
