VOLKSWAGEN presented the ID.7 electric sedan at CES

Volkswagen chose the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas to present its first fully electric sedan, which goes by the name ID.7.

Series production of the model announced with the concept ID.Aero, will start in the second quarter of 2023. VW covered the exterior of the car with "smart" camouflage, and they showed the interior and detailed some of the technical features of the upcoming model based on the MEB architecture.

As for the form itself, it is VW ID.7 looking like a twin to the concept ID.Aero, which was introduced in June, which means that it has retained its aerodynamic silhouette, although some details have been changed for the needs of series production. They belong here simpler LED lights, larger mirror caps, slightly redesigned bumpers and alloy wheels with a smaller diameter.

The special camouflage that it is VW used at ID.7, creates electroluminescent light effects in a variety of colors with graphics that inspire it QR code. To achieve this result, VW applied as many as 40 layers of paint with conductive or insulating properties, which allows independent lighting 22 body parts and creating a light show combined with an audio system.

The interior reveals the final design of the production model. big, 15-inch freestanding display touch screen in the form of a tablet for infotainment solutions it is complemented by a digital instrument panel and a transparent screen in front of the windshield dedicated to virtual reality. The touch sliders below the screen, which are used to control the climate control and the volume of the audio system, are physically separated from the screen by an edge.
