Pri Lamborghini are preparing for a new era of their activity, as they have published the first details regarding s plug-in hybrid powertrain, which should see its premiere in the model's successor Fan.
The long-awaited super sports car is wearing code name LB744, and a completely new atmospheric one was developed for it 6,5-liter V12. Compared to the model it replaces, the engine will be rotated 180 degrees.
A powerful twelve-cylinder that can spin up to 9.500 rpm, is only part of the drivetrain, which is supplemented by electric motors. An internal combustion engine drives the rear pair of wheels, while the front pair has an electric motor on each wheel. The third electric motor is installed next to the dual-clutch one 8-speed automatic transmission and, if necessary, transfers the power of the electric motors on the front axle to the rear as well.
All of the above together should provide accurate thousand horsepower, and the lithium-ion battery mounted on the center channel has a capacity 3,8 kWh and it can be charged in half an hour. Such a design should allow for 30 percent lower carbon dioxide emissions.
