Ever since Peugeot introduced the model in 2010 508, this is available as a wagon and a sedan. Officially, however, the model was never offered as kupe (or even convertible), although the manufacturer s Peugeot SR1 Concept caused mouths to water at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.
I should Peugeot offer such a model today? And more importantly: would it be a vehicle a compelling choice in the niche segment of medium-sized coupes? We can only imagine that. And that's exactly what they did at X-Tomi design with its latest computer rendering or rendering. An unofficial creation of the latest facelifted version of the sedan 508 (we already wrote about it) turns it into an elegant two-door coupe. We can say it looks pretty good. We'd say the proportions fit the model - at least in this rendering - and it could turn out to be true a rival to the BMW 4 Series, which the French will not produce.
If this one fictional coupe ever become a reality, Peugeot would likely offer the same drivetrain options as the updated models 508 and 508 SW. These range from 1,2 liter of a three-cylinder gasoline engine with a turbocharger in the basic version, which develops 130 BAM, to the top hybrid drive, which transmits the total power to both shafts 360 BAM. This latter system is available in 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered (PSE). We'd bet there would be a variation PSE also available in imaginary coupe 508, which would compete with powerful coupes from Germany.
But that's just it speculation and it's highly unlikely that Peugeot will offer a model anytime soon either 508 Coupé. If you still want an elegant one Peugeot with an interesting rear, you can only imagine 408, which is a kind of Coupé-SUV-Crossover.
