Mercedes was at the fair IAA Mobility 2023 strongly represented in Munich with the concept class CLA and a new hatchback class E. Mercedes also showed a masked prototype of the all-electric class G, which will be available next year, and a new class E All-Terrain and redesigned models SKIP, EQB in EQV extension. And if that wasn't enough, the star-studded manufacturer has also brought a car with it that has not yet been officially announced: Say hello Mercedes-AMG GT Concept E Performance.
A few weeks ago, the second generation was presented AMG GT Coupé in versions 55 in 63, but now the company from Affalterbach already presented the prediction of the future top model. It looks almost identical to the models already revealed, but in addition to the heavily darkened headlights, it also has a modified bumper that houses charging port. Yes, this concept (although it's basically a prototype) is plug-in hybrid and has an electric motor that drives the rear axle. It remains under the hood V8 engine, and its total strength exceeds 800 BAM. Compared to the model GT 63 with a "modest" 577 hp, this is a huge increase. Torque isn't mentioned, but it's certainly significantly higher than the current flagship's 800Nm.
AMG GT Coupé became a much larger vehicle in its second version (with 2+2 seats), so it is large enough to fit complex plug-in hybrid V8 configuration. In the four-door model GT 63 SE Performance electrified powertrain produces monstrous 843 BAM and more than 1.400 Nm of torque. We'll see if the new coupe can match these values. As impressive as these data are, we must not forget that the new two-door GT weighs just 1.970 kilograms. It goes without saying that there will be a variation PHEV even more difficult if you add an electric motor, battery, etc. Mercedes-AMG GT Concept E Performance expected to be years 2024 postal serial model.
