Forgotten studies: 1974 LANCIA MIZAR

Based on the Beta 1800 model, this study remained a prototype with unique features.

Revival Lancia will be next to the new one Ypsilon (probably in 2024) also included a parade horse in future years Gamma as well as new Delta. In which case they may transform the latter into SUV. According to the manufacturer, style and elegance are at the heart of the group's project stellantis, which wants to breathe life into the Italian brand new life.

To shape the future, car designers like to look to the past and are inspired by historical models. As in the case Lancia in models Stratos in Flaminia. But what if a very unusual one joined these models Mizar? This one was based on a model beta 1800 and was presented at the motor show in Turin leta 1974. He designed it Giovanni Michelotti (designer of several then Triumph'sas it was Spitfire) and immediately stood out due to its unusual lines - very angular appearance, high ground clearance (almost like a modern SUV, at least when looking at the front) and large windows.

The Lancia Mizar study was based on the Lancia Beta 1800 model.

Even more surprising were four winged doors. A feature that has always been associated with the sportiest cars. V inside you were greeted by a spacious and well-crafted interior with beige and purple upholstery and four comfortable seats (with benches carried over from the Beta model). On minimalistic design the dashboard housed a radio, air conditioning and numerous storage compartments. It's strange, yes spear she didn't have seat belts (which were not mandatory at the time) in order to keep the interior design as elegant and clean as possible.

The special feature of this study was four winged doors…

O engines there is little data, but it is likely that it is Mizar used an engine that was also derived from the model Beta. In any case, though Lancia Carpenter she never became serial model and remained only design study.
