The new Aston Martin Vantage gets 656 hp and a much-needed facelift

With a big increase in power, revised chassis and other significant changes, the new Vantage coming in 2024 is very attractive.

Aston Martin makes a model Vantage for 74 years. The current generation of the two-door vehicle GT it has been on sale since 2018 and after six years on the market it has received an extensive update. Imagine her as a normal facelift mid-cycle, but it's full of mechanical stuff that actually interests you. New camshafts, modified gearbox, chassis changes and the like. Furthermore it looks much better.

The end result of these changes is of course impressive. Mercedes 4,0 liter V8 engine in the model Vantage now it produces just 656 BAM, which is 153 horses more than in the old car. It's not just a few pounds higher pressure, but of the previously mentioned ones cam coils, larger turbines and a changed compression ratio. To regulate the temperature of the coolant and charge air, they were added three new heat exchangers. The oil cooler is also bigger. There seems to be a lot of heat here. AMG V8 supports tested 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, which transmits power to the rear wheel via an electronic limited-slip differential. The final drive differential was shortened to 3,083 : 1 to allow for faster acceleration, but this did not affect the Vantage's long-standing top speed. New Aston not only that it can sprint up to 100 km/h in samo 3,4 seconds, but also reaches maximum speed 325 km/h.

The new Vantage it is glued together like an old car. In the automotive world, this is called gluing. Nature of the procedure enables certain flexibility in chassis construction, which happened Aston decided to take advantage. The new car received a modified chassis that increases torsional rigidity. The company also relocated one of the primary front crossmembers, which it says increases stiffness suspension mounting points and improves steering feel. The supporting support is also lighter and more rigid. Who doesn't like a lighter and stiffer spring strut? She was also in the back chassis stiffness improved with various changes that enable even better performance of the new adaptive shock absorbers Bilstein DTX. All this is difficult to define on paper, but Aston insists that behind the wheel there are noticeable differences between the new and old settings.

Software enables all these hardware changes. Aston he says they were different management methods grip, launch control system and electronic power steering re-tuned to provide greater performance and driver engagement. The company detailed how all these systems collect data and they work, but the real test will be how it all comes together on winding roads. All this technology is stopped by a braking system consisting of front ones 400 mm steel rotors with six-piston calipers and rear 360-millimeter rotors with four-piston calipers. A set is also available as an option carbon ceramics, which reduces almost 30 kilograms of total weight.

It's happening here more changes, as can reasonably be listed outside the spreadsheet, but the point is to just look at the thing. For more than a centimeter is wider from the outgoing car, and the body panels were significantly revised. It's a two-door car GT front engine and rear wheel drive. Relationships can only be so wrong. Also, we've already seen most of this car race in The Daytons, which apparently no one noticed. Delivery of the new Vantage will start in the second quarter of 2024, and will probably also be published during this time included.
