Unit Shame RS since 2000 has characterized the most sports versions of the Octavia. And because they were less interesting models octavia are now receiving an overhaul (all information about generally valid updates is available here), of course the RS models are also getting an update. What updates are these? More power, for example.
Updated Škoda Octavia RS is therefore exclusively equipped with the version 2.0 TSI with 195 kW (265 HP), which has 15 kW (20 hp) more than its predecessor. The motor initiates maximum torque 370 Nm and is always equipped with automatic 7-speed DSG gearbox. It is a model with standard sports suspension RS also 15 millimeters lower from other Octavia models. They complement that progressive control and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential VAQ. And that's all as far as specific technical features are concerned. Exterior of the new version is now equipped with true sports exhaust systems with black exhaust pipes ex works. The new control system contributes to “to the powerful sound of the model” (according to Škoda). We don't know what it sounds like yet, av sports mode definitely increases engine rpm when starting.
The second characteristic details of RS include parts in glossy black, such as the grille frame, window frames and exterior mirror caps. This also applies to the roof racks of the van version. They are also available: more sporty front and rear bumper, red reflective strip on the rear bumper across the entire width of the vehicle and up to 19-inch wheels. The RS models are the only versions octavia, which are equipped with headlights as standard MatrixLEDs. The lighting package is completed by the rear lights LED z animated turn signals and an animated feature arrival/departure home.
Interior is predominantly black. 13-inch central screen with navigation system is in RS Combi included as standard, as well as automatically lifting lid of the luggage compartment space. Sports seats with integrated headrests and new RS logo they have covers with a quilted pattern and red decorative stitching on the seat backs. Dashboard cover with neoprene surface it has double contrast stitching in red. The design strips on the inside of the doors are finished in high-gloss black, while the dashboard is finished in dark carbon fiber. Multi-function sports steering wheel it has a leather cover and the pedals have a stainless steel look.
In optional equipment Design Selection RS Lounge the sports seats are covered with perforated microfiber and artificial leather with red contrast stitching on the surface of the seat and backrest. Electrically adjustable front seats with the memory function, they also offer depth adjustment of the seat surface, adjustable lumbar support and a massage function as standard. A combination of microfiber and artificial leather is also available on the door trims in the vehicle Design Selection RS Lounge. The center of the microfiber dashboard is padded with two rows of red contrast stitching.
The manufacturer has not yet commented prices or the start of sales on the market. But we assume there will be variations RS available at points of sale at the same time as less interesting models. Of course at adjusted prices.
