GP of Italy
Formula 1 Grand Prix Heineken d'Italia
ABOUT THE RACE
Monza National Autodrome is a racetrack located in the vicinity of the Italian town of Monza, north of Milan. It is one of the racetracks with the richest racing history in the world.
The racetrack has three different configurations, the 5,793-kilometer, which is also used for the Italian Grand Prix, the 2,405-kilometer Junior track and the 4,2-kilometer, which has not been used for quite some time. The main trail also contains famous bends Curva di Lesmo, Curva Parabolica in Variant Ascari. The first turn Great Curve is now for chicanery which is why it is no longer so important.
The racetrack also hosts race for 1000 km Monze, which has long been part of the World Championship of racing cars, and in 1957 and 1958 also hosted the Race of Two Worlds.
The racetrack is best known for hosting the Italian Grand Prix. It is also known as a racetrack, where due to the long planes, racers drive most of the lap at full throttle, so it is very demanding for motorcycles. The racetrack lies on very flat terrain, so it has few ups and downs, and is also known as a racetrack where engine power is much more important than racing talent.
