Mattia Binotto: We will not stop this year's development

Ferrari will also fail this year to reach the desired goal and that is the title of champion. Of course, Italians receive a lot of criticism, but also well-meaning advice. One of these is categorically rejected by team boss Binotto.

Hand on heart: Even if we stick to the proverb “nothing is impossible”, we can say without a guilty conscience that Ferrari this season in terms of the title the train not only took off from the station but has already arrived in another city and that is it Stuttgart. What's more, Ferrari has to be careful not to get on the sidelines, because it would have to put the team down the rails first Red Bull Racing Honda.

Looking at the table, the numbers say the following: Mercedes after the first half of the season he leads convincingly with 438 points. It's in second place Ferrari with 288 points, third Red Bull Racing however, he has already collected 244.

Ferrari is still in second place behind Mercedes, but they are threatened from behind Red Bull

Of course, criticism is at the expense Ferrari understandable. Last but not least, the Italians have only talked about one goal for this season and that is the title of champion. And in Italy, we are witnessing behavior like in football, where we have a thousand coaches at once after every game who know everything. Some suggestions are incomprehensible (Ferrari he needs other racers now, Hag is too old Leclerc too immature, ..) and others are well-meaning.

One question just arises, namely, when will it be Ferrari put the focus of development on the side of the race car 2020. The thought here is completely logical, because if they can’t win the title this year anyway and Ferrari can’t slip beyond third place, why not fully develop for 2020?

Binotto: Anything that improves us this year, we can benefit from 2020

Mattia binotto, team boss Ferrari, responded to this as part of the Hungarian GP racing weekend. “Should we already focus entirely on next year’s racing car? I don't think so. This is because we have a stable policy next year and whatever we improve on this year's car, it will be good for Ferrari in terms of the 2020 season. In addition, we have nine races by the end of the season, and we have not won any yet. And we want to fix that soon. We will do our best to end the season with great performances."
