RIMAC SCALATAN: 3.100 horses for 2080

Croatian electric sports car maker Rimac has asked designers around the world to design an electric sports car for 2080. Maximilian Schneider won the competition with his futuristic idea called Scalatan.

It's April 2020 Rimac posted an interesting contest for designers on his Instagram. They were looking for a sports car design Rimac for the summer of 2080. The only requirement: the shape must match the function. The plans could be submitted to Rimac by May 17, 2020, and the challenge was tackled by thousands of designers. It is now finally clear who the winner of the challenge is. In Rhyme Scalatan, which he drew Maximilian Schneider, is really spectacular.

Designer Maximilian Schneider named his winning idea Rimac Scalatan Vision 2080. Scalatan is based on titanium chassis, made in a 3D printer that acts as an organic skeleton, integrating Li-O2 batteries into its structure. Above it is placed a kind of shell made of extremely light graphene. The nano surface optimizes the aerodynamic properties of the vehicle.

The main load of gravity is taken over by a specially designed chassis with active ones leading air elements. Equipped with a “memory effect”, the system can also repair minor damage. In addition, the chassis is responsible for charging the batteries - by induction via solar modules installed in the road itself (we are talking about 2080). The wheels are also created in a 3D printer. The multi-part construction combines rims and tires in a single part. The drive concept envisages four-wheel electric motors with a common 3.100 BAM.

It weighs only 940 kilograms Scalatan real rocket, worthy of the name Rimac. Now we only have to wait 60 years for it.
