Mattia binotto, team boss Ferrari, has announced that his team will take part in this year 's inaugural race in Austria, which will be on the racetrack this weekend Red Bull Ring, eliminates no improvements to your car SF1000.

His justification reads: “The truth is that the result of testing in Barcelona has led us to a significant change of direction in development, especially in the aerodynamics of the front of the car.“Let’s remember he was Ferrari on the track Circuit of Barcelona-Catalonia significantly behind the fastest race cars, i.e. for Mercedes in Red Bullom. Both racers were more than happy with the results. Announced change direction is surprising and comes in at an inconvenient time, as the effect of this will drag on to later races.

Mattia Binotto has now officially confirmed that Ferrari is leaving for the opening race of the season in Austria without any improvements and that they will only introduce them in the third race, which will take place in Hungary - Photo: HB Press

"We first had to understand why the expected results were missing and to what extent we had to recalibrate the entire program as a result. It would be counterproductive to continue in this direction that we planned, as we would not achieve our goals we set for ourselves," so binotto. This could also be read as an acknowledgment to the race car SF1000 in its original form it would not be competitive. Ferrari now plans to bring improvements to the third race of the Hungarian GP season at Hungaroring.
