Development of racing cars the 2021 season is in large part frozen, but McLaren is facing a big challenge as he will have to install it completely in his car new drive unit. The team from Woking announced some time ago that they will be out in the 2021 season Renault transferred to Mercedes. Despite the new freezing rules, this has not changed for them, although the matter will be significantly more complicated.

"It is the integration of the Mercedes power unit that is like open heart surgery,”Said the team boss Andreas Seidl in a video interview for selected media. Because McLaren will have to new engine practically installed in this year’s race car, as there will be no new ones next year. To this end, the team is in an intensive exchange of information with Mercedesto be able to do this as best we can. That they will succeed, at McLarn they do not doubt. “I'm sure we'll do very well," so Seidl. Because at McLarn they are well acquainted with the changes of engine suppliers. Years 2015 they switched from Mercedes to Honda, and in 2018 they already had it in the back of the car Renault engine. Now follows the next exchange.

McLaren announced some time ago that they will be competing with the propulsion units of the former Mercedes partner in the 2021 season.

This last exchange, however, brings small weakness. All other teams will be able to 2021 season used two tokens for development with which they will be able to improve selected parts race cars. Pri McLarn however, they agreed to be both their own tokens used for integration of Mercedes drive units. "We loved doing that,He emphasizes Seidlwho is sure he will McLaren by changing the engine partner he definitely took a good step forward. “Other teams will, of course, have freedoms in other areas, but I believe this is below the line a good compromise for us to live very well with."
