HUNGARY GP, FP2: Sebastian VETTEL “fastest” in the rain

Sebastian Vettel had the best time in the rain in his second free practice for the Hungarian GP.

Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) was the fastest in the second free practice and for the first time this season it happened that no one with Mercedes drive unit. The matter is otherwise important beauty flaw, as it all took place in the rain, and the conditions did not actually allow for normal conditions to achieve fast times.

Some racers, among them Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and Alexander albon (Red Bull), they only drove the setting rides and didn’t even try fast laps. In total, only 13 drivers had lap times recorded at the end of the lap times. The driver Ferrari 1: 40,464 was enough for the first place on the table, which is 24 seconds slower than in Hamilton on the first free workout in the morning.

He came in second Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes / + 0,272 seconds) pred Carlos Sainz (McLaren / + 1,320). Both Racing Points, Lance stroll in Sergio Perez followed in fourth and fifth place, Max Verstappen (Red Bull) drove onto the track only at the end and lagged behind in his only measured lap. Pierre Gasly (AlphaTauri).

At the beginning of training due to rain hardly anything was going on. Occasionally, racers came to the track and drove the setting lap, but by halfway through training there was almost no representative circles. It was only in the end that more and more racers decided to try measured laps as well, but there wasn’t particularly much action. He was with 16 laps Kimi Raikkonen (9./Alfa Romeo) most active of all. Only two other racers, Sebastian Vettel in Charles Leclerc, drove a double-digit number of laps next to Finc.

Four drivers (Lewis Hamilton, Daniel Ricciardo, Esteban Ocon, Kevin Magnussen) they even took just the whole round for accommodations. Despite the difficult conditions, apart from minor slips, there were no notable problems for drivers.

The second free practice thus gave no new answers to many questions, so it is Mercedes tomorrow the first favorite for the first starting row since he was Hamilton on hard tires in the morning workout for half a second faster than the first competitor from another team. Maybe tomorrow, however, it will all turn upside down times. Or not, let's just remember qualifications for the Styrian Grand Prix.
