Rene GROWTH: FORMULA E is significantly more stressful than the DTM Championship

Constant communication via radio and an overview of energy consumption and track traffic - for Rene Rast, Formula E racing is significantly more stressful than in the DTM Championship.

Two-time series champion DTM, Rene Rast, is currently experiencing stressful days (just like his colleague at the Audi brand, Nico Müller). During the races DTM v Spa-Francorchamps and on Lausitzring Growth drives for Audi as well Formula E in Berlin, where he will drive at least six races in just nine days. But to a new team member Audi Formula E worries aren’t just caused by a busy schedule.

Races in Formula E are also for Rasta much more stressful than v DTM, as he found out after the first two races. "An incredible number of things happen all at once," real Growth. It starts with intensive radio communication with a racing engineer who is not used to DTM.

“We should not talk to the team in the DTM. I can tell them something on the radio, but they can't answer me. We communicate here all the time, ” he said Grow: "In addition, you can't drive at full throttle with a Formula E car all the time, as you have to distribute the available energy over the entire racing distance."

Rene Rast says racing in Formula E is significantly more stressful than in the DTM championship.

“I have to watch out for energy and the traffic around me. There are so many things to look out for at the same time, ”says Rast. “And you still have to drive the race and keep the car on the track. It's very, very difficult all together for someone like me, who is a newcomer to the series. ”

But so far it has Grow on return to Formula E (he already drove the race for Aguri in Berlin in 2016), cut well. The first race on Wednesday is after disqualification the driver of the BMW Maximilian Günther won a point for tenth place.

It's Thursday Grow, who succeeded the dismissed in Audi 's Formula E team Daniel Abt, landed in last place after the driver errors in qualifications. Then his team decided to let him start from the pits. Growth improved in the race with 24 participants 13. place.
